The fighter’s girl of Muay Thai are more and more numerous to represent Muay Thai in the world. These women’s champion participated in the development of world Muay Thaï as well as the fighters of the male sex. Because today, the girls are also numerous as the boys to practice the Thai boxing. What was not at all the case in the 80s and 90…
Boxer’s girl amateurs or professionals, they became very technical and always so determined in their fight. These amazons of boxing rings often have a mental and a determination to win which has nothing to envy to the male champions.
In Thailand, world championships feminine exist since the 90s, of numerous federations such as the WMTC, the WMF, the WMC, the WBC, the WPMF or the IMC awarded titles to female combatants. But the Thailand goes even farther by organizing from now on every year a special world championship to promote feminine Muay Thai worldwide. On January 28th, 2017, to Huan Hin, the WMC organization gathered about fifteen champions among the best fighters of the planet for an entitled tournament “Women’s Fight Muay Thai World”. It’s the proof that feminine Muay Thai has definitively her place in the kingdom of the Siam!

Contrary to their male counterpart, the Thai women champions do not dominate the world. Generally, the foreign women fighters are stronger than Thai women. But there are all the same several big women fighters in Thailand who are known as well as the stars of the Lumpinee stadium or of the Radjadamoen stadium.
In Europe, the best women fighters are in Holland, in England and in France. It’s these three nations which produce for several years most girls world champions in professional.
Russia, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, Greece, Germany and Sweden also have several big women fighters among whom some world champions.
The American continent is well off with great women champions in Canada and in the United States. Brazil, fighter’s earth of MMA and Ju-Jitsu now has women champions of Muay Thai.
Japan always produced magnificent women champions but rather in the disciplines of the Kickboxing and the K1. In Muay Thai, Japan had all the same several formidable women world champions.
Australia is also a great land of women champions, the female Muay Thai is developed well there for several years.

Thailand
Loma Lookboonmee (S1 world champion – 50 Kg, IFMA world champion – 45 Kg) formed to the famous camp Lookboonmee situated in the city of Lam Plai Mat near Buriram in the Northeast.
She trains now for the camp Dejrat Muay Thai Academy, Loma is a member of the best women world in – 50 kg and add up more than 200 fights to her credit.

Chommanee Taehiran (WMC World Champion – 57 Kg) was also formed in the Lookboonmee camp in the town of Lam Plaï Mat near Buriram in the Northeast. Chommanee was the fiancée of champion Loma Lookboonmee. For many years, they formed the most famous Thai women’s champion couple of Muay Thai.
Chommanee is certainly the best Thai girl fighter in his category. She won the WMC World Championship belt in – 57 Kg against Brazilian Taina Duarte at the show Fight Night in city of Saint-Topez in August 2016 in France. Chommanee had already tried to conquer the WMC title in 2014 against the great Australian woman champion Caley Reece but she had lost to points.
Chommanee was big conqueror of the first feminine tournament WMA (World Muay Thai Angel Tournament) who was organized on April 13th, 2014. This competition had combined 16 champions of whole world, in the final square there were no more than four fighters, Duennapa (Thailand), Sindy Huyer (Italy), Teresa Wintermyr (Sweden) and Chommanee (Thailand).
Chommanee beat Teresa Wintermyr in the semi-finals and Sindy Huyer in the final.
Chommanee also won the King’s Cup tournament in 2014 by beating the Italian Miriam Sabot.
The Thai champion is now training at the Banchamek Gym camp in Bangkok, the Bukaw star camp.

Zaza Sor Aree (WPMF World Champion in – 50 Kg) won the WPMF belt in 2008 by defeating Greek champion Farni Kiatchionson, a belt she defended victoriously several times. Kwankhao Lukklongtan is the current WPMF World Champion in 108 lbs (- 49 Kg), a belt she won in 2015 against thai woman champion Thanonchanok Kaewsamrit.
Kwankhao trains in camp Lukklongtan, a boxing camp opened for more than 50 years in the district of Ramkhamhaeng Soi 3. Namtan is a great fighter who won in 2013 the WMC belt in 112 lbs against Kenglekkwanjai Pabaijatourat and in 2015 the WPMF belt in 118 lbs against Saifar Sor Suparat.
Namtan now fights in 126 lbs and trains at the Por Muang Petch camp in Samut Prakarn. Namtan has made more than 100 fights, this charming girl boxer, aged 22, is currently a student at the Faculty of Political Science at Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok.

Sawsing Sor Sopit is a lovely and terrific woman fighter who won her first World Champion’s Belt in 2010, the WMC Belt in 115 lbs.
In 2012, in Japan, the Thai woman won the WPMF world championship belt in 126 lbs by beating by KO the Japanese Azuma, the same year she also won the S1 belt in 126 lbs. On January 28, 2017, in Hua Hin, Sawsing defeated Canadian Candice Mitchell and won the WMC Belt in 130 lbs.
Formed at the camp Sor Sopit of Singburi, Sawsing trained then in a small camp near Chiangmai in the north, the Baan Nak Muay Gym.

Lucia Rijker is a living legend of the rings, she’s the greatest women fighter in the history of the feet and fists. She also made her mark in the noble Women’s Art by winning against the best women champions of the time.
Her ferocity, determination and punch made her a dreaded girl boxer on all the rings on the planet. She is nevertheless a charming and generous woman outside the rings. But until today, no girl combatant has managed to defeat « The Dutch destroyer ». Lucia Rijker was a girl fighter equally at ease in Muay Thai as Kick Boxing and Full Contact. Then she made a superb career in Boxing.
With 54 fights, 37 in feet and fists (36 wins, 1 draw) and 17 in Boxing (14 KO), she has never known defeat and won 39 of her bouts by knockout. Her only defeat in her career was conceded in a special match where she faced a man, a Thai boxer Somchai Jadee who beat by KO. It was the first boxing match between a man and a woman that took place on 24 October 1993 in Holland.
The Dutch woman won in Kick Boxing and Muay Thai the supreme title in the federations ISKA, WKA and IWBA. In Boxing, she was world champion WIBF and WIBO as well as European champion WIBF.

Germaine de Randamie is the worthy successor of the Star Lucia Rijker, the Dutch women, nicknamed « Iron Lady », is a terror of boxing rings in the same way as Rijker. Her determination and her power allowed him to bring down all her opponents, Germaine de Randamie remains unconquered in feet and fists with 37 fights for 37 victories among which 14 by KO.
Formed by the legendary Fred Royers, she gained her first professional title important in 2003 in Amsterdam, champion’s title of Europe WPKL in – 61 Kg. On September 4th, 2005, in Amsterdam, she took away her world champion WPKL’s first title in – 61 Kg by beating in points Japanese Asako Saioka who was a little lighter than her.
On November 19th, 2005, to Victorville, in California, she met the American Angela Parr for the titles IKKC/WIKBA in 130 lbs (- 59 Kg), she beat Angela Parr by KO in the first round thanks to a lightning high kick.
On 6 March 2006, in Holland, she beat by KO Italian Sonia Mirabelli and seized the title WIKBA in – 61 Kg.
On June 20th, 2008, in Jamaica, she beat the English woman champion Julie Kitchen in points and won the titles IKKC/WIKBA in 140 lbs (- 63 Kg 500). After this fight, the woman Dutch stopped her career in Muay Thai to fight only in rule MMA. In this discipline, Germaine de Randamie also became a terror by destroying practically all her opponents. On her 10 fights in MMA she won 7 among which 4 by KO and granted 3 defeats.
On Feb. 11, 2017, The Iron Lady became the UFC champion of featherweights by defeating the great American woman champion Holly Holm (UFC Bantamweight Champion in 2015), who beat by KO in 2015 the formidable champion Ronda Rousey.

Ilonka Elmont won her world champion WMTC’s first title in – 52 kg, on October 1st, 2000 against the Thai Sordao Sor Jamsai. Then, she won the titles WPKL, IMKO and although WMTC in the face of great women champions what are Mary Hart, Michelle Sutcliffe, Lisa Houghton-Smith (Twice), Luibove Jakimova and Lisa Howard.

Nicknamed « The Golden Girl », she won her world champion’s first title in November, 2012, by beating, in Las Vegas, the Australian champion Tiana Caverley. The Dutch seized the WBC belt in – 52 kg, a belt which it defended then successfully against the champion of Costa Rica, Marcela Soto (Victory by KO in the first round) in April, 2013 and the English champion Christi Brereton (Stop of the referee in the second round) in July, 2014.
On February 15th, 2014, to Temacula, Jemyma Betrian took away her second title of professional world champion. She beat the Brazilian Thai Souza by KO in the third round and took the WCK belt in – 52 kg.
In March, 2014, Jemyma Betrian also took away the famous tournament Kunlun Fight (WLF World) by beating by KO in semi-final Portuguese Katia Pedrosa and in points, in final, Chinese Meidie.
The Dutch champion stopped her career in Muay Thai to fight in MMA where she made two fights for two victories in 2014 and 2015.

Melissa Ray won her first WPMF belt in 2009 by defeating Thai lady Praewa Sor Penprapa by TKO, a belt she defended victoriously against the Scottish Joanne Calderwood on August 11, 2010, during the Queen’s Day in Bangkok.
In 2010, English won the WMA belt in China against Italian Sindy Huyer. Melissa Ray also won a S1 belt in 2009.
She was also a silver medalist at the WMF Amateur World Championships in 2004 and 2005.

In the 2000s, Lisa Houghton-Smith was a dangerous woman boxer who won two world championships and a European championship title.
The English woman won her first WAKO Pro belt in – 50 Kg by defeating French Lolita Candel by KO in the fourth round, a belt that she defended victoriously in points against the great Dutch champion Ilonka Elmont on October 20, 2002 and against the Japanese Asako Kamio that she put KO in the fourth round.
Then, she won the ISKA title in – 50 Kg. Also, an ISKA European title against the French Laurence Woo.
Lisa Houghton-Smith successfully fought several times in Thailand and was preparing for the Jitty Gym camp in Bangkok.

On 26 March 2016, in Chalon-sur-Saône, she confronted the German champion Meryeme Uslu and won the WBC title in – 52 Kg. She beat her four opponents, with one win by points and three victories by knockout. His great performance at this show was to put KO the awesome English woman champion Iman Barlow. Sandra Sevilla left for Thailand to conquer his world champion WPMF’s belt – 59 kg in 2012, she beat a Thai at her home, in front of his public, to Patani in the South of the Thailand. On August 11th, 2013, in the Queen’s birthday, she gained the WPMF belt in – 61 kg against the Thai Sanukkoe So Ko Ngai Yim.
She also won a WBC European Championship belt in 2012 against Italian Rossela Setti. In Thailand, the French trained and fought for the Singpatong camp in Phuket. Sandra Sevilla now teaches Muay Thai in her gym at the Suaymuaythai Gym in Lacanau near Bordeaux.

Ielo Page is a solid combatant who has a great experience in Muay Thai Amateur with two WMF gold medals in 2008 and 2009 in – 60 Kg. And a gold medal in – 65 Kg at the WAKO amateur world championships in style K1 in 2011.
On March 21, 2014, in Pattaya, she won the professional WMF World Championship belt in – 60 Kg, in a special tournament where she beat the Dutch Marloes Elizabeth and the Israeli Nili Block.
In September 2017, Ielo Page won a K1 Pro world title in – 63 Kg, beating the Dutchman Marianka Bestebreur, a fight she made on such short notice. The French had already won a world title in K1 (WTKA) in 2013 against Italian Luisella Maccione.
In 2011, in Bangkok, she had gained world champion’s belt WMF semi-pro on the famous boxing ring of the MBK Center where takes place many female fights. In 2010, the French had already seized the WMF world belt semi-pro in – 60 Kg in Bangkok. Ielo Page also failed three times for the WMA (2010), WPMF (2010) and WMC (2012) world titles against Italy’s Chantal Ughi, Luxembourg’s Claire Haigh and Russia’s Valentina Shevchenko.

Laetitia Lambert took away his world champion WPMF’s first belt – 54 kg against the Thai Sabaithip Prasathbupai, on August 11th, 2010 in Bangkok during the Queen’s birthday.
Laetitia Lambert with 43 fights for 39 victories beat champions such as Muang Chang Ploy, Michelle Preston, Linca Zerbu, Alexandra Bertrand, Brandt Desirée, Jubjaeng Sakrungrueng, Angélique Pitiot, Linn Wennergren, Ielo Page, Emmanuelle Pellen.
She was also a French Muay Thai professional champion in 2005 and 2006 and an amateur world champion in Sanda in 2011.
Laetitia Lambert stopped her career in 2015. But in 2017, the champion made her come back and still wants to fight. A documentary film about the preparation of his fights and his return to the ring has just been released in cinema in September 2017 and is simply called “LAETITIA”.

Nancy Joseph was one of the precursors of the Thai boxing in France, in the 90s this adventurer of boxing rings dominated her category for a long time.
Formed in Muay Thai in the famous club Bryzon Gym, she was one of very first French to fight in Thai boxing in the 80s. Nancy Joseph began at first with the french savate boxing by taking away 11 times the title of champion of France, as well as that of champion of Europe and the World. Then, she was the French first one world champion of Thai boxing, in 1992.
Nancy Joseph also won the world title four times in Kick Boxing and made a good career in professional Boxing with 7 fights for 7 wins including three by knockout.
In boxing feet and fists, she made 60 fights for only one defeat. In her big time, the French was nicknamed « Lady Tyson ». It’s one of the rare women fighters to have succeeded has to close the eye of unconquered Dutch Lucia Rijker. In 2003, Nancy Joseph was a part of the French team of Muay Thai as trainer and adviser.

Angela Rivera-Parr was a great American woman champion, she fought for the United States at the beginning of her career by winning eight times the title of US champion.
In 2001, he was the first American female won a gold medal at the IAMTF World Championships. Then, she married with the legendary Australian champion John Wayne Parr, the couple moved to Australia and together they set up a Muay Thai gym called the Boonchu Gym. Today, the Boonchu Gym is one of the best gyms of Muay Thai of Australia.
Angela Rivera-Parr has a more than honorable fight’s record with 47 fights for 30 wins and two world championship titles, gold medal at the IAMTF amateur world championships in 2001 and the professional WKBF belt in 2010.
Angela Rivera-Parr also fought for the world titles WIKBA, WMC and IMTA respectively against Germaine de Randamie (Defeat by KO), Julie Kitchen (Defeat at points) and Miriam Nakamoto (Defeat at points). She won her first IKKC world championship belt in 115 lbs (- 52 Kg), on June 24, 2000 by defeating by KO Amy Yakesu in the United States.
On April 14, 2001, she lost her belt to points against English woman Jussy Senturk in Victorville in the United States for the IKKC title in 115 lbs (- 52 Kg). One month later, on May 21, 2001, she defeated her compatriot Jet Izumi in Tokyo by KO and took the IKKC title in 112 lbs (- 50 Kg).
On August 7, 2001, in Australia, she defeated by KO Karen Williams and won the ISKA belt in 115 lbs (- 52 Kg). On November 15, 2002, in the United States, she beat Stephanie Dübs in the first round and hung on the IWBF title in 115 lbs.

She lived in Thailand and trained in the Sinbi Gym camp in Phuket, most of her fights were carried out in Thailand with some fifty fights for about 30 victories.

Tainara Lisboa won the WPMF belt in 140 lbs, in 2013, in Bangkok, beating Thai Fasithong Sitso-ung by referee stop, the young girl Brazilian was just 21 years old.
Then, in 2014, she seized the World Women’s Boxing Association (WWBA) title in 140 lbs (- 63 kg 500) against Thai Petchdara, which she beat at the points.
In 2010, in Peru, Tainara Lisboa had fought for a title of INKA world champion against the terrible Valentina Shevchenko, she had lost at points against the Russian champion, was the fifteenth fighting of the Brazilian and her first defeat in Muay Thai.
Tainara Lisboa beat champions such as Chantal Ughi, Sandra Bastian and Sabine Kern. Tainara Lisboa trained and fought for the Muay Thai Plaza 2004 Camp.

Maria Lobo is certainly the best woman boxer of her country in Muay Thai. The Portuguese have a very beautiful fight’s record with four gold medals at the WMF World Championships in – 57 Kg (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016), a bronze medal at the IFMA World Championships (2010), a gold medal and a silver medal at the IFMA European Championships (2010, 2016). She also won a world championship belt K1 WTKA in – 58 Kg.
Her companion is the great Portuguese champion Diogo Calado (ISKA World Muay Thai Champion, Enfusion World Muay Thai champion, ISKA Europe champion and WFCU Europe champion), the two young boxers met at the IFMA world championships in 2007, a competition in which they each took part to represent Portugal. And for the past ten years, they have formed the most famous couple of boxing champions in their country.
In Thailand, Portuguese was preparing for the Keatkamthorn Gym camp in Bangkok.

Claire Haigh is a Luxembourg woman champion who has fought a lot in Thailand. She trained and represented for many years the Tiger Muay Thai camp in Phuket. Claire Haigh was a tough fighter who made 43 fights for 34 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw, she won the WPMF World Championship belt in 140 lbs in 2007 against the Thai Nilawan Techasuep. She defended this belt against French woman Ielo Page in January 2010 in Suphanburi (Victory at points) and Thai Kwanta Soonkeeran in April 2011 in Phuket (Victory by stop referee). On 14 February 2012, in Luxembourg, Claire Haigh won the World WPL Pro belt against Portuguese Sandra Pires which she beat in the third round by referee’s stop.
Claire Haigh failed for IKF professional world titles in 2010 against Julie Kitchen, WBC in 2010 against Miriam Nakamoto and ISKA in 2013 against Veronica Vernochi. The Luxembourger has also tried the MMA with 4 fights for 3 wins and a draw.

Fani Peloumpi is a Greek woman fighter origin of Albanian who settled in Thailand and lived for a long time in the country of Muay Thai. In her career, she has carried out some sixty fights in Thailand on her 86 fights (76 wins, 10 defeats). In Thailand, she was fighting for the promoter Tienchai Sirisumpan, an important general officer of the Thai army.
She won her first World Championship title in 2006 in Thailand (World Champion Kings Cup), a title she will also win in 2009 and the World Champion Prince Cup in 2008.
In 2008, in Bulgaria, she won the title of WMF Amateur World Champion, a belt that she will also win in semi-pro in 2010. The year 2008 was prolific for the champion as she also won two belts of World Champion. In Greece, she conquered the professional belt IMC world champion in – 53 Kg against her compatriot Marianna Kalergi. Then, in December 2008, at the King’s birthday in Bangkok, she seized the WPMF belt in 112 lbs (- 51 Kg) by beating a Thai woman champion. A belt which she defended several times victoriously. On March 17, 2017, the Greek champion tried to conquer the WPMF belt again in 112 lbs but she lost to the points against the formidable Thai woman champion Thanonchanok Kaewsamrit.
This adventurer of ring is also a great practitioner of Muay Boran (Ancient Thai Boxing) and Krabi Krabong (Thai Martial Art), she has reached a level in Muay Boran that allows her to be able to teach this art today.
