TECHNICAL SEQUENCE WITH MASTER ANDRE ZEITOUN

Temps de lecture : 2 minutes

Andre Zeitoun, a recognized figure of Muay Thai in France, has been teaching Muay Thai for over 30 years, sharing his expertise and know-how with many generations of practitioners.

After his boxing career, in 1990, Andre Zeitoun opened his gym to satisfy his other passion, teaching. He has formed many champions such as Nash Ular (World Champion), Nicolas Subileau (French Champion), Jerome Abotsi (French Champion), Olivier Pedarzolli (French Champion), the Defretin brothers (French Champion), Daniel Vicencia (French Champion), Mohamed Mokhtari (French Champion), Adil Khodja (French Champion) and many others…

But the two pearls that Andre has shaped over the years are without a doubt the two immense champions Jean-Charles Skarbowsky and Johann Fauveau.

Andre Zeitoun has been able to accompany Jean-Charles Skarbowsky throughout his career, from his beginnings at the age of 15 to becoming one of the best foreign fighters in the world of Muay Thai. Nicknamed “Namhon Morana” (The Deadly Perfume), Jean-Charles Skarbowsky has truly marked the history of Muay Thai in Thailand. He was the first foreigner ranked number 1 at the Radja stadium in 2003 and in 2006, one of the most prestigious stadiums in the world of Thai boxing, it is an exceptional feat.

This demonstrates not only his talent and dedication, but also the effectiveness of the training and advice given by Master Zeitoun.
As for Johann Fauveau, a true warrior of the rings, he was a recognized champion who won the title of French champion class A in Thai boxing three times, titles won alongside Andre Zeitoun, and he also won an ISKA world champion belt in K1 in 2012.

Together, they rocked many rings in France and beyond, sharing victories and memorable moments. Johann Fauveau was a talented fighter, and having Master Zeitoun as his coach played a key role in his development and success.

His experience as a trainer is impressive, Andre Zeitoun has coached some of the biggest names in Kick Boxing. Among them, Jerome Le Banner, K-1 star, with whom he won the ISKA world champion title of Thai boxing in 1996 after a remarkable victory against Curtis Schuster. Jerome Le Banner, thanks to the support of Andre Zeitoun, had some fabulous fights at the prestigious K-1 heavyweight tournament in Japan.

Master Zeitoun also worked with Kamel Chouaref, the “emperor of French boxing”, with whom he won five world kickboxing champion titles. He also trained Mustapha Youcef, nicknamed “Totof”, whom he prepared several times for his fights at the big show of the Birthday of the King of Thailand in Bangkok, as well as Tarik Benfkih, who won a WAKO world champion belt in 2004 and Cyril Benzaquen (7 times ISKA world kickboxing champion).

For SIAMFIGHTMAG Master Zeitoun showed us a simple and effective technical sequence of pure Muay Thai. Professor Maurice Briere from Nakitail Fighting in Toulouse is his partner for this technical sequence. Maurice Briere brought Master Zeitoun to his gym for a seminar in December 2024.

1. MASTER ZEITOUN IS ON GUARD (GUARD ON THE RIGHT) FACING HIS OPPONENT (MAURICE BRIERE NAKITAIL GYM)

2. HIS OPPONENT ATTACKS WITH A LEFT STRAIGHT (FRONT ARM) WHICH MASTER ZEITOUN BLOCKS WITH HIS RIGHT HAND BY DRIVING THE BLOW DOWN

3. MASTER ZEITOUN HOLDS HIS OPPONENT’S LEFT ARM AND AT THE SAME TIME STARTS A DIRECT ELBOW STRIKE WITH HIS LEFT ELBOW. HIS ELBOW STRIKE HITS HIS OPPONENT’S FACE

4. MASTER ZEITOUN DOES NOT LET GO OF HIS OPPONENT’S LEFT ARM. AND WITH HIS LEFT HAND HE GRAB THE TOP OF HIS SKULL

5. MASTER ZEITOUN SHIFT HIS LEFT LEG BACKWARDS AND AT THE SAME TIME HE PUSHES ON HIS OPPONENT’S SKULL IN ORDER TO FORCE HIM TO DOWN
