How old are you?
I’m 49 years old
You come of what region of the Thailand?
I was born in the city of Chamni in the region of Buriram in the northeast of the Thailand
Are you married, do you have children?
Yes I’m married and I have five children
Your children practise Muay Thai?
Yes but just to train, they don’t fight…
You began the boxing at which age?
I began the boxing at the age of 9
You fought immediately?
Yes for my first fight I gained 15 baht, in the time…
How you discovered the boxing?
It was my father who taught me to boxing
In what camp you began your formation?
I came at about 12 years to the camp Pinsinchai to Bangkok, it’s in this camp that I have make my formation and that I made my career of professional boxer with General Sawek Pinsinchai…

What are the titles which you gained?
In 1983, in the stadium of Radja, I was champion of Thailand against Warunee Sor Pleonchit and in 1984, in the stadium of Lumpinee against Chuthong Silapakon. I won the belt of Lumpinee in 112 lbs against Otnoi Lookprabat in 1986 and again a belt of Lumpinee in 112 lbs against Kwayrong Sit Samtahan in 1987!

How much have you make of fights?
I have make 170 fights for 162 victories and 8 defeats!
You had which style of boxing?
I was a technical fighter (Fimeu)
What was your technique preferred in fight?
I had no precise technique which I applied in fight, I was complete, I used all the techniques of Muay Thai, I loved as well the techniques of fists, elbows, that of feet…
What was your hardest fight?
Against Weerapon, we were four times in confrontation, I beat him three times and he beat me once by KO, against him it was always very hard because he was very powerful with his fists…
Your best memory of boxing?
It’s to have beaten so three times Weerapon because it was a great champion!
What are the known Thai fighters that you faced?
Thukatathong, Weerapon, Pareuhatlek, Kompayak, Warunee, Chuthong, Otnoi, Kwayrong, Wichan, Dokmaypa and many of the others…
You have already fought abroad?
No I have never had the opportunity to go to fight abroad…
What is according to you the best foreign fighter today and in your time?
Today, I don’t know but in my time most hardly was the Dutch Ramon Dekkers!
And the best Thai fighter now, it’s who according to you?
I find the champion Buakaw very good, I moreover coached him there is decade when he fought in China!
You made well your living thanks to the boxing?
Yes, I was able to put some money aside to create my own camp of boxing!
What was your promoter when you fought?
General Sawek Pinsinchaï nicknamed “Asawindam” (The black knight)!
What was your purse in Thailand in the time?
I gained very good purses, my biggest purse was 200 000 bahts!
Today you became a trainer?
Yes and I have my own camp which I opened approximately 7 years ago, there is to Lampang in the Northern Region of the country, the city to 50 km of Chiangmai, here is an address:

Yes some of them and my best fighter is Thepsuthin Pumpanmuang was Thailand Champion and TV7 Champion!

Burklerk was one of the best fighters of the 80s, a great technical champion who was extremely precise in his knocks!
This great champion beat by KO formidable Thukatathong Por Pongsawan (Lumpinee Champion), as well as champions such as Pareuhatlek Sitchunthong, Wichan Sitsouchone and Dokmaipa Por Pongsawan. It was one of the rare fighters to beat three times the terrible puncheur Weerapol Sahaprom (72 professional fights in Boxing, 66 victories, 46 KO) which gained world champion WBC’s belts and WBA in Boxing!

Burklerk, at the end of his career also beat the young boy wonder Kompayak Por Pramuk who became then also a world champion WBC and WBA of Boxing!
Burklerk made his last fight in the stadium of Radja in 1997 in 32 years!
During his career, Burklerk received many prizes such as the ” Best fight of the year in Lumpinee ” and the prize ” Yod Muay ” of the ” Best fighter of the year “!
Later the boxing Burklerk became a professor of Muay Thai, an Art which he taught in the Thai schools and worldwide during many seminars organized in France, in Canada, in Germany, in Holland, in Australia, in the United States!
MASTER BURKLERK OFTEN TEACHES HIS ART TO THE YOUNG STUDENTS IN THE SCHOOLS OF THE REGION OF CHIANGMAI!
