How old are you?

I’m 24

You come of what region of Thailand?

I’m come from Isaan (North-east), I was born in the region of Udon Thani in Nong Khai

Do you have brothers who also practice boxing?

No, I’m the only one in the family to do Muay Thai. I have no brother, I have two sisters

You are married, have you children?

I just married me this year, and we have no child…

You began the boxing at which age?

In 11 years

At what age you have make your first fight?

One year having begun, in 12 years …

How did you discover the boxing?

My father took me in a temple near my home where monks taught Muay Thai, it’s thanks to the monks that I discovered the secrets of Muay Thai!

In what camp you began your in Muay Thai?

I did not begin in a camp, I trained at first at my home with my father who is an enthusiast of boxing, then it’s the monks who trained me. Then I went to the camp ” Bor Plaa Boonchu Gym ” (The park of the fish Boonchu), to Nongkhai, Mr Boontham Luangyawee’s camp which is my manager today…

Towards what age you left to Bangkok?

I came to Bangkok in 14 years to the camp F.A. Group. I’m in this camp from now on ten years…

You live in the camp?

Yes I had my room in the camp but now I’m with my wife…

What other champions who train in the camp?

There are Fahmeechai, Panom, Petsakon, Yatkonpon…

In what category you fight?

I started in 105 lbs (47Kg500) and now I fight in 140 lbs (63Kg500 Kg) in Thailand

What are the titles that you won?

I have won 14 titles!

My first belt I won at age 16, the belt of Thailand in 105 lbs (47Kg500) against Lekla Thanasuranakorn then I won the belt of Thailand in 108 lbs (49 kg) against Yodrachan Kietbanphot Or, the belt Thailand in 112 lbs (50Kg800) against Kompichai Ritenaychaona, my first belt of Lumpinee in 118 lbs (53Kg500) I won against Rakiat Kiatprapat and then I won the belt of Thailand in 122 lbs (55 kg) against Captiankane Narupai, the belt of Lumpinee in 126 lbs (57 kg) against Pansak Luk Bor Kor, the belt of Lumpinee in 130 lbs (59 kg) against Saenchai PK Saenchai Gym, the belt of Thailand in 135 lbs (61 kg) against Singdam Kiatmuu9, the belt of Lumpinee in 135 lbs (61 kg) against Sakeddao Phetpayathai, the belt WMC World Champion in 135 lbs (61 kg) against Singdam Kiatmuu9 again the belt of Lumpinee in 135 lbs (61 kg) against Pakorn PK Saenchai Gym, the belt of Thailand in 140 lbs (63Kg500 Kg) against Yodvicha Porboonsit, the Radja belt 140 lbs (63Kg500 Kg) against Yodvicha Porboonsit and the belt Tournament “Toyota Marathon” 140 lbs (63Kg500 Kg) against Chamuaktong Sor Yupida!

How much have you make of fights, how much have you of victory and defeat?

I made 328 fights for 192 wins, 135 losses and 1 draw!

You gained many fights by KO?

Not much, I have won only 15 wins by KO!

You have which style of boxing?

I’m a fighter who constantly moves forward and I use a lot my knees..

What technique you most affectionate in the ring?

The clinch and knee blows, that’s my specialty!

What was so far your hardest fight?

Against Sam-A Kayanghadao Gym in Lumpinee in 2008, it was in the category of 115 lbs (52 kg), he broke my legs with his low kicks at the end of the fight I could not walk, I lost the fight on wound…

My fight against Pansak Luk Bor Kor for the title of Lumpinee Stadium 126 lbs (57 kg) was also a very hard fight!

PETCHBOONCHU AND SAM-A CLASHED TWICE WITH TWO VICTORIES FOR SAM-A!

Your best memory of boxing until today?

My victory against Saenchai is a beautiful memory because it’s the best fighter of the circuit!

You met several times Saenchai?

Yes we clashed seven times, I beat him three times and he beat me four times!

Can you tell us your listed clashes in front of him?

In April 2009 I lost against him in Lumpinee in July, me and Sakeddao we faced Saenchai in a special fight, I’m the first three round and Sakeddao the other two round, Saenchai won points, in August in Lumpinee I beat for the first time Saenchai for the belt of Lumpinee in 130 lbs (59 kg), in October 2010 in Lumpinee, we faced for the belts of Lumpinee and WMC in 135 lbs (61 kg) I lost on points, in September 2011 to Lumpinee I again lost on points against him ,on 3 December 2013 at Lumpinee I beat the second time Saenchai and February 7, 2014 at Lumpinee I still beat him on points!

THEY ARE VERY RARE THE FIGHTERS LIKE PETCHBOONCHU WHO HAVE BEATEN THREE TIMES THE PHENOMENAL SAENCHAI!

You have already fought abroad?

Yes once in Scotland (Defeat points)…

Would you like to fight again abroad for example in France?

Yes I would like very much going to fight in Europe, moreover if promoters are interested my purse abroad is 200 000 bahts and I can fight up to 67 kg!

You know French boxers?

I know Damien Alamos, I have already seen him fighting…

In Thailand, what is according to you the best foreign fighter?

I think that French Antoine Pinto is one of the best today!

And the best Thai boxer at present?

I believe that it is still Saenchai!

What are the champions you have fought in recent years?

You lived good thanks to the boxing?

Yes I touch very good purses today, I have a beautiful car and I have make build my house near Udon Thani, a big house which will be ended at the end of the year…

What would you like to make after the boxing?

I would like to set up my own camp to Bangkok or at my home in Isaan (Northeast Region)…

Phetboonchu began Muay Thai in a temple are monks who taught him the boxing then he was in the camp of Boontham Luangyawee. At the beginning, Boontham, a former boxer, had taken up his own camp in the northeast of the Thailand to Nongkhai. His camp was called “Bor Plaa Boonchu Gym” (The park of the fish Boonchu) in touch with the name of the restaurant ” Boonchu Fish ” which had created Boontham. In his camp, he formed some good boxers as Phetboonchu and Fahmeechai but he had to close the camp because his business, the restaurant, worked not much. Boontham thus left, with his boxers, settling down in the capital where he opened a new camp by means of Surapol Prasetpharn. Surapol which has parts in the company F.A. Group Company named the camp simply F.A. Group Gym. This camp became very renowned today. Since the age of 14 years Phetboonchu is in the camp F.A. Group, a camp which is just next to the famous stadium TV7, in this camp there is also Panom Topkingboxing, the champion who came in France to the event Best of Siam 4 and who lost against Raphael Liodra!

Phetboonchu (The diamond Boonchu) is at present the fighter the most titled in Thailand with 14 belts taken away, it’s a part of great Thai stars who touch the biggest purses as well as that Saenchai, Pakorn, Singdam, Nong O, Sam-A, Sangmanee and Yodvicha!

PETCHBOONCHU, SAM-A AND NONG O, THREE FORMIDABLE YODMUAY, PETCHBOONCHU AND NONG-O CLASHED 8 TIMES WITH SIX VICTORIES FOR NONG-O AND 2 VICTORIES FOR PETCHBOONCHU!

Phetboonchu is the current Radja champion in 140 lbs (63Kg500 Kg), a belt he won June 11, 2014 against the young boy wonder Yodvicha Por Boonsit (Best fighter of the year 2012)!

PETCHBOONCHU AND YODVICHA CLASHED 7 TIMES WITH FOUR VICTORIES FOR YODVICHA, TWO VICTORIES FOR PETCHBOONCHU AND THEY MADE A DRAW!

The last belt that he gained is the one of the tournament Toyota Marathon in July, 2014 when he beat the Brazilian Victor Nunes, French Jimmy Viennot and in finale the Thai Chamuaktong Sor Yupida, Phetboonchu gained the sum of 300 000 baht for this tournament!

PETCHBOONCHU GRAND WINNER OF TOURNAMENT TOYOTA MARATHON 2014!

Phetboonchu is nicknamed “Khoun Khao Rim Kong” (The killer knee of the river Kong) because it’s a formidable ” Muay Khao ” (Strong in knees), his boxing is not very spectacular but terribly effective, his knocks of knees are devastating. He’s also very good with his fists because he often fights in Boxing, in December, 2014 he come all just to take away the Golden medal in Boxing amateur for the championships of the center of the Thailand to Korat in Isaan!

Phetboonchu beat all the great champions of his category, he was elected ” Best fighter of the Lumpinee ” during four months, from November, 2013 till February, 2014!

He also received in 2013 the prize of the ” Best fighter ” by the famous magazine Siamkeela!

AWARD SIAMKEELA BEST FIGHTER OF THE YEAR 2013!

Phetboonchu is selected among five other champions for the famous title of the ” Best Fighter of the year ” 2014, a trophy which will be awarded in April, 2015 by « The Sport Writers Association of Thailand »!

On February 7th, 2015, Petchboonchu came to fight for the first time in France, in the event of ” The Night of the Titans ” in city of Tours organized by the promoter Hadj Mekedem. Petchboonchu was involved in a tournament to four with French Mohamed Galaoui, Bobo Sacko and Jimmy Viennot. Petchboonchu beat Galaoui by throw to the sponge in the second round then in finale he met Sacko who managed of the exploit to beat in points the Thai star!
