Muay Thai Gym Poot Lorlek opened in 2011, he’s situated in the region of Trang in the South of the Thailand. The camp is in the city of Trang on the main avenue Thaglang Road, it ‘s not far from the municipal stadium Thung Chaeng.
The camp belongs in legendary fighter Poot Lorlek who had previously already opened a camp, in 2007, in the city from Palian to 20 km of Trang but this camp is closed today…
From now on, the camp of famous Poot Lorlek is right in the heart of the city of Trang!

Poot Lorlek is a man very taken by his business, he has a company which takes care of the rubber harvest. Poot which has three sons, thus let his elder son “Patchariporn” take care of his camp. But every on Friday, the master comes to give collective lessons to his pupils!

Also, it ‘s possible to have a private lesson with Master Poot Lorlek for 1,000 baht per hour.It’s a privilege to have a private lesson with Master’s Poot Lorlek because besides his prestigious fighter’s career, he was also for a long time a trainer in the famous camp Chuchokchai. In this famous camp, he formed fighters who became afterward stars of boxing rings such as Jaroenthong Kiatbanchong, Oley Kiatowey and Rajasak Sor Vorrapin!
The camp is opened every day except Sunday and four trainers, among whom Poot Lorlek he even, teaches from 7:30 am till 9:00 am and from 3:00 pm till 9:00 pm.
The camp accepts the novice boxers as well as the confirmed boxers, they are all welcome to the Muay Thai Gym Poot Lorlek!

The price to train for the Muay Thai Gym Poot Lorlek is 4000 bahts a month, the accommodation and the food is not included. But in the district there are small restaurants and some cheap hotels…
The city of Trang is very pleasant, quiet and typical of a big city of the South. She’s situated in only 10 km of the sea resorts of the coast and the national park Hat Chao Mai!
The interest to come to train in this camp is of course to be able to meet the great champion Poot Lorlek!
The career of this magnificent fighter thus deserves to be presented with more details, here is thus a summary of the story of one of the biggest legends of Muay Thai!
Poot Lorlek of his real name Taweesak Pipatkul was born on January 1st, 1952 in the village of Bang Duan in 20 km of the city of Trang in the South of the Thailand.
At the beginning of his career, was nicknamed “Aynou Trang” (Kid from Trang). Then « The Angel Boxer » and « The Comet of the South » because he was very fast and technical!
In the 70s, Poot Lorlek made 80 fights for 65 victories, 13 defeats and 2 draws. He only suffered defeats on points against the great champions likes Mangkongdam Saksonsayam, Phanomphon Kietisakongka, Deanthoranee Muangsurin, Boorengnong Sakonpitak, Neitsak Narong, Jitti MuengkhonKaen, Weechit Lukbangprasoi, Pongdetnoi Prachonchai, Posay Sitiboonlert (Best fighter of year 1976), Vicharnoi Porntawee (Best fighter of year 1977) and Saensak Muangsurin (Best fighter of year 1977). And during all his career Poot Lorlek was never put KO, or counted!
POOT LORLEK VS PONGDETNOI PRACHONCHAI !
Poot Lorlek begins the boxing in 15 years to the camp Sor Phinyo with Khru Sawad Saengwanachai. His fighter’s first name is “Prakaythep Sor Phinyo”. He’s going to make ten fights with ten victories for Sor Phinyo and to make his first fight in Bangkok in 1969, at the age of 17, he beats the champion Sirinarong Sakthanine in the stadium of Lumpinee!
In Bangkok, he stays with his uncle, a former champion, who trained him and gives him his fighter’s new name, Poot Lorlek. So, with Poot Lorlek there was also his younger brother, Sin Lorlek, who became later a big fighter but who unfortunately died at the age of 20…
Poot was an extraordinary technician who often met fighters much heavier than him. But thanks to his phenomenal blow of eye and his strike velocity, he managed to defeat his opponents every time!
Poot Lorlek is going to fight a lot in the stadium of Lumpinee where he will make 51 fights in the mythical stadium of time. He’s going to beat practically every best of his category, as well as foreign champions as the Japanese champion Hikari Asaki whom he beat by KO!
On January 29th, 1971, in just 19 years, he gains the belt of Lumpinee in 122 lbs against Samyan Singsornthong.
LUMPINEE CHAMPION!
In 1975, Poot Lorlek became a star in Thailand and « The boxer Angel » find not many opponents who dare to challenge him, he thus begins a career in Boxing. From 1975 till 1977, he’s going to make eight professional fights in Boxing with eight victories among which three by KO!
On August 23rd, 1975, he takes away champion’s belt of Thailand in Boxing in 135 lbs against Malaithong Sitkoon whom he beats by KO in the seventh round!
His biggest purses that he won were 80 000 bahts against Vicharnoi Porntawee and Saensak Muangsurin!
Poot Lorlek and legendary Vicharnoi ” Immortal Boxer ” (Lumpinee Champion, Radja champion, Best fighter of year 1977) were three times in confrontation with a victory for Poot Lorlek and two victories for Vicharnoi. For their third confrontation, in 1975, a million bahts dumpan was at stake, the fight took place in the stadium of Lumpinee, full to bursting, and was won by Poot Lorlek. This memorable match was then elected ” Fight of the year “!

In front of terrible puncheur Saensak « Devil’s Shadow » (World champion WBC of super-lightweight in Boxing, Best fighter of year 1973), Poot Lorlek made four fights with three victories and one defeat!
Poot Lorlek beat champions as Weechit Lukbangprasoi (3 times), Neitsak Narong, Thanomchit Sukhothai, Sirinarong Saktanin, Chayouth Sitibunleuk, Saifaa Saengmorakot, Burinong Sakhonpitak, Buriram Souanmisakwan, Sonakrok Kietwayupak, Muengchon Jirapan, Phansak Kietjaroenchai, Chuchai Lukpanjama, Sirimongkon Luksiripat (Best fighter of year 1972), Fasai Taweechai (Best fighter of year 1970) and twice Kongdej Lukbangprasoi (Best fighter of year 1968)!
Poot also brought down by KO Faprathan Singthanongsak, Sornphet Phonpayak, Yodpayak Sutsing, Faypha Theparat, Adun Kietdara and Meuangchon Jiraphan!
In 1974, Poot Lorlek received the trophy of the ” Best fighter of the year ” by the prestigious « The Sport Writers Association of Thailand »!
This incredible fighter went back up several times on the boxing ring after the end of his career for exhibition matches but also for real fights!
How in 1989 to Pattaya against King Samart Payakaroon in exhibition match and for a real fight, in 2011, against legendary Sagat Petchyindee!

On March 25th, 2011, in the South of the Thailand, to Surathani, Poot Lorlek, 60-year-old, beat in points Sagat (55 years), this fight between these two dinosaurs of Muay Thai will remain unique in the annals of Muay!
