Special report
by Serge TREFEU (2020)
Today, there are many Thai champions who win many titles in their careers, in addition to the famous complimentary titles from the great stadiums of Bangkok.
In the 60s and 70s, the Thai champions who earned several belts of different stadiums were very rare. There were only two major important stadiums, the Radja and the Lumpinee stadiums and others a little less known. It was not until the 80s that some champions have won many titles to their list as Chamophet Ha Phalang (9 belts), Kongthoranee Payakaroon (6 belts), Saencherng Pinsinchai (5 belts), Chanchai Sor Tamrangsit (5 belts).
During the 1990s, with the appearance of many world champion titles, super-titled champions proliferated. Omnoi Stadium, which opened in the late 1980s, and the expanding TV7 Stadium, also increased the number of titles. Great champions conquered several belts such as Jomhod Kiatadisak (7 belts), Samkor Kietmontep (5 belts), Langsuan Phayutaphum (5 belts), Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtor (5 belts).
The 2000s saw an enormous number of phenomena like Saenchai P.K. Saenchai (15 belts), Buakaw Banchamek (14 belts), Nong O Sit Or (12 belts), Singdam Kiatmuu9 (10 belts), Anuwat Keawsamrit (10 belts), Yodsaenklai Fairtex (10 belts), Jomthong Chuwattana (10 belts), Kem Sitsongpeenong (9 belts), Pornsanae Sitmonchai (8 belts), Orono Wor Petchpun (7 belts), Kongnapa Watcharawit (6 belts), Tongchai Tor Silachai (5 belts).
For the years 2010 and so far, young wonders of the rings have won numerous titles like Petchboonchu F.A. Group (14 belts), Sangmanee Sor Tianpo (9 belts), Phetmorakot Teeded 99 (8 belts), Sittisak Petchyatphahai (8 belts), Superlek Kiatmuu9 (8 belts), Sam-A Kayanghadao (7 belts), Phanpayak Jitmuangnon (6 belts), Seksan Sor Sommaï (6 belts), Yodpanomrung Jitmuangnon (6 belts), Penaik Sitnumnoi (6 belts), Komphet Sitsarawatseua (6 belts), Wanchalong P.K.
