When he begins his fighter’s career, the Thai boxer changes his born name to bear the name of the camp which is going to form him. Then, according to their career, the most known champions receive a nickname of boxing ring, besides their fighter’s name. This nickname is generally given by specialized journalists or by fans of Muay Thai. The nickname in Thai says to “Chaya”, and every great champion had during his career his “Chaya” which marked the spirits of the enthusiasts of the Muay Thai!
So, some foreign champions who often fought in Thailand saw attributing fighter’s nickname, nickname which makes a reference to their physical appearance or their fighting spirit on the Thai boxing rings!
The most famous of the foreign fighters in Thailand, the Dutch Ramon Dekkers (Rest In Peace) was nicknamed “Ay Mat Khanghanarok” who wants to say ” The Turbine of hell “, because in the face of Dekkers his opponents often underwent an infernal hail of blow!

But in Thailand, when Kerner fought for the camp Sor Ploenchit, the chief trainer of the camp Kim Yu (The main trainer of Dida in the movie Chokdee), to joke about his physical appearance of “handsome boy” nicknamed French ” Nong Bui “. Nong Bui was one of the most beautiful women of Thailand who was elected ” Miss Universe ” in 1988!
