Singhklongsi means ” The Lions of Klongsi “, this name was given by the founder of the camp, Chuchiph Popiam. Mr Popiam was born in Ban Klongsi in the province of Lopburi. When he created his camp in the village of Ban Kokram, he took back the name of his former village ” Klongsi ” and associated it with ” Singh ” (Lion).
Chuchiph Popiam is a figure in the world of Muay Thai in Thailand, Mayor of his village, he was also a promoter in the stadium of Lumpinee!
In the 70s, Chuchiph was a good boxer, but he had no structure to train correctly. Then, he decided to build his owncamp, behind his house. And it’s in 1972 that the camp opened officially his doors…
At the beginning, there was only boxers’ handful but very fast there were about twenty fighters, and the boxers began has to bring good results…
The first champions who were formed in Singhklongsi are the own sons of Chuchiph!
Chuchiph had five sons, five fighters, Charnsak, Kotchasarn, the twins Taweeporn and Taweesak, and Luknimit!
THE FAMILY OF THE SINGHKLONGSI!
The elder son was Charnsak, at first, he was a champion of the province of Saraburi and Petchabun. Then, in 1999, Charnsak gained the belt of Lumpinee in 108 lbs against Roonachai Narateekoun. Charnsak was one of the favourite boxers of the famous promoter Songchai Ratanasuban. This magnificent fighter received twice the trophy of ” Best fighter of the year ” as well as the trophy of the ” Best fight of the year in the stadium of Lumpinee “!
Charnsak also gained world champion’s belt, and beat twice the star Seanchai Sor Kingstar, this great champion stopped his career in 2005…
CHARNSAK SINGHKLONGSI !
The second of the sons of Chuchiph was called Kotchasarn. It was the formidable boxer who had beaten the great fighters as Nungubon Sitletchai, Khunpinit Kiettawan and put K.O the star Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtorn!
At 20 years old, Kotchasarn fought for the belt of Lumpinee against legendary Attachai Fairtex, a fight in which was defeated in points…
Unfortunately this champion died tragically at the age of 23 in an accident of motorcycle…
KOTCHASARN SINGHKLONGSI !
After Charnsak and Kotchasarn, it’s the twins Taweeporn and Taweesak that represented the Popiam family. Taweeporn made 80 fights in Muay Thai then launched into a career in Boxing where he became a champion of Hong-Kong!
TAWEEPORN SINGHKLONGSI !
Taweesak fought him in the most prestigious stadiums of Bangkok, he made 360 fights and faced the best of his category such as Pornsanae Sitmonchai, Bowee Sor Undomson, Thongchai Tor Silachai, Phet Ek Sitjaopho, Phet O Sitjaopho!
Taweesak took away the belts of the provinces of Lopburi, Saraburi and Petchabun, the belt of Lumpinee in 108 lbs and twice world champion’s belt S1!
Today, he became Mayor as his father…
TAWEESAK SINGHKLONGSI !
Finally, the junior of the family, Luknimit, 27-year-old, is always in service. Luknimit which is considered as being the best one of “Muay Khao” (Strong in knees) of the circuit beat champions as Thongchai Tor Silachai, Superbank Sakchaichot, Rittijak Kaewsamrit, Naka Kaewsamrit and Chatchainoi Sit Benjama!
He also faced heavyweights of his category such as Pakorn Sakyothin, Yodweecha Por Boonsit, Rungrat Thor Phitakkonkarn and Rungpeth Wor Rungniran!
Luknimit gained the belt of Radja and world champion WMC’s belt in 108 lbs in front of Fahsang Tor Pitakchai, are at present ranked N° 1 in the stadium of Omnoi and N° 4 in the stadium of Radja in 122 lbs!
LUKNIMIT SINGHKLONGSI !
At the beginning of 2014, in the stadium of Omnoi, Luknimit participated in a big tournament in 122 lbs with eight fighters, eight champions all classified in the big stadiums of Bangkok, Rataket Tedeed 99, Phetsinin Suan Aharnpeakmai, Denchiangkwan Lamtongkanpeth, Songkom Sitjaroensub, Songkom Sakhomsin, Kaotam Loukprabaht, Darahek Kietkamtorn and Luknimit Singhklongsi!
He lost his first fight by stop on wound against the boy wonder Songkom Sakhomsin (World champion WBC Youth) but Luknimit remains one of the favorites of this tournament, he has another two fights to be made to be qualified in the final square, tireless Luknimit is always present…
Between 2000 and 2010, Singhklongsi formed boxers recognized in all the stadiums of Bangkok as Seksan, Seksa, Kotchasarnlek, Rampenoi, Semapeth (Winner of the tournament Tiger cement Channel 7), Wanongjiu (Champion of the province of Nakhon Ratchassima) and Daoden Singhklongsi.
SEMAPETH SOR CHAOWALIT !
Daoden made 250 fights in Thai boxing, he met Kaimookdam Sit O for the belt of Radja and was defeated in points. Then, he began a career in Boxing to become a great champion in this discipline. Daoden, which fights now under the name of Paipharob Kokietgym, conquered the title of champion of the professional World WBA as well as the titles of champion PABA, WBO Asia and WBC Asian Boxing, he stays this unconquered day with 23 victories among which 18 gained by KO!
DAODEN SINGHKLONGSI !
Another big fighter who was formed in Singhklongsi is Starboy Singhklongsi who made 350 fights of which hundred in Bangkok, Starboy also made a career in Boxing where he lost in particular in points against the star Somrak Kamsing for preselection in the Games Olympic of 1996, this year there Somrak had become Golden medal in the Games Olympic of Atlanta!

Year 2010 was a very bad year for the camp Singhklongsi because the founder of the camp, Chuchiph Popiam, dies in a dramatic accident…
The boxers of the camp are all bewildered by this big loss, they have no more the heart to be fought and many leave the camp…
Singhklongsi is dying little by little, the camp is ready to close his doors when in 2012, two French, Charlton and Romain, becoming aware of the situation and the history of it prestigious camp decide to restore him!
Romain D. Rossi alias Scarafino is a French rapper who is installed in Thailand since a few years.
Scarafino arrived in Thailand in 2006 when he had come train with his professor of boxing Piem Outhaitawy in the campof legendary Wangchannoi Sor Palangchai, a camp which was to Kok Samrong in the province of Lopburi. He stayed then in various places of the Thailand…
It’s in 2009 that he decides on come back in the Thai boxing and to find a new camp, far from sea resorts classic as Pattaya or Phuket. Scarafino wants to find the authentic atmosphere of the real camps of Muay Thai, camps in the old…
The camp of Wangchannoi being closed from now on, he will find another camp, the Singhklongsi. The owners of the Singhklongsi are very well to welcome him and will make him fight several times in province to Nakon Sawan, to Saraburi, to Kok Samrong, and to Sisaket. All in all, he is going to make 16 fights!
Scarafino is an enthusiast of the Thailand and the Muay Thai, he realized several video clips which are directly inspired by his universe and by his lifestyle in Thailand…
ROMAIN ALIAS SCARAFINO !
Charlton Henri is native of city of Royan, he lives in Thailand for eight years, today he is married to a Thai with whom he had a girl. Charlton began his boxer’s career to Sisaket in the northeast of the Thailand. A friend presented him to master of Muay Thai who was called Arun Kunmana who was also an expert in Boxing, an art in which he formed in Cuba!
Arun Kunmana trained at first Charlton to the university of the sports of Sisaket then at his home. All in all, French which fought under the name of Koulap Deng Sor Kunmana is going to make 54 fights of which 11 in Boxing, he going to fight almost everywhere, especially in Isaan, to Sisaket, Ubon, Buriram, Phayao, Pattaya and in Bangkok!

Charlton also trained in the camp Sanaree Gym in Korat and for the WKO to Pattaya with Nick Kara as trainer, australian Nick Kara was a world champion and shot in the famous movie the Ong Bak. He plays the role of the giant Big Bear in one of the cult scenes of the secret fights of the movie!
Charlton had to put an end to his career because of a problem in the right eye and the wounds in knees straight ahead…

Romain and Charlton met to Pattaya where Charlton held a restaurant, Romain suggests to Charlton going to the camp Singhklonsi to train the boxers. Because since the death of the owner, the results of the boxers of the camp became very bad. Furthermore, the official trainer was arrested by the police and imprisoned…
Both French restore with their means the camp and the rooms, the boxers come back, the camp relive, and Luknimit, after spending one year full of defeats takes up with the victory. He gains ten fights in a row and goes back up in the rankings of Lumpinee and Radja!

From now on, every month, known boxers come to stay at Singhklongsi to work the specialities of the camp which are the techniques of blow of knees and the intense physical preparation.
The boxers train seven hours a day, they make between one o’clock and one hour and a half of clinch, five in eight round of five minutes in paos, more a big works technique and rounds on punch bags. The physical condition is enormously worked with two hours of jogging a day, punctuated with sprint and with extreme physical exercises!
