Sor Kittichai is at present the biggest camp of the South of the Thailand. In this camp, there are permanently around thirty boxers of whom about ten which fight at very high level. The boxers of the Sor Kittichai it are created a robust reputation by fighting in every stadium of the South of the country. They evolve especially in stadium the most known as those of Hatyai, Koh Samui, Phuket, Ao Nang and Surathani. And five of them fight practically that in Radja and in Lumpinee, two bigger stadium of Bangkok who are all the same 700 km of the camp Sor Kittichai…
This camp created by Mr Kittichai, an enthusiast of Muay Thai, opened its doors at the beginning of the 90s. He is in Baan Tii Wang’s village, village of countryside situated in 10 km of the city of Thung Song. Thung Song is a town of the South right in the heart of Nakhon Si Thammarat’s province. Although lost, in the countryside, in the middle of the jungle, this camp has a structure so important as the big camps of the capital.
The ground of the camp is vast, there are two buildings with several rooms for the boxers. It is a quiet place, here nakmuays trains in the open air, in the middle of nowhere. When they make their daily jogging of 10 km, they can admire a magnificent landscape, consisted of small green mountains, plantations of heveas and of a luxuriant jungle…
Sheltered by a wide roof in sheet steel, the boxing ring of Sor Kittichai is very large and on the boxing ring, during the trainings, it is really the excitement. The trainers hold paos and encourage their champions to knock with fury, the youngest make furious clinch, the slightest surface of the boxing ring is exploited. Around of the boxing ring, the other nakmuay lets off stream in punch bags, while some skip on the enormous tires. How in the big camps of Bangkok, he reigns in Sor Kittichai an electric atmosphere!
Here, the rounds in paos are very long, they owed five minutes instead of the usual three minutes. Before a fight, the boxer gets ready by making seven rounds in the morning and seven rounds after noon. Then he makes 40 minutes of clinch in the morning and 30 minutes after noon, then he ends with five rounds in punch bags. Sor Kittichai is a camp “Muay Khao” (work of knees) but many boxers of the camp are rather “Fimeuu” (technician) as the champion Phettawee. The main boxers who often fight in Bangkok under every under contract with the promoter Songchai Rattanasuban, the promoter N ° 1 of Radja.
To supervise the boxers there is four trainers in the camp. The main trainer which is called Seangdao formed of excellent fighter, it is the former champion of the South who fought before for Sor Kittichai
This camp produced some beautiful champions as Sittichai Sor Kittichai, Chinarat Sor Kittichai and Sinchainoi Sor Kittichai. Sittichai was Champion of Thailand, today he became a manager of the camp because he makes left the family of the owner of the Sor Kittichai. Chinarat, him, won there are about ten year, world champion’s belt as well as champion’s belt of Thailand. When has Sinchainoi it was a redoubtable fighter in 126 lbs that made more than 300 fights. He often fought in Lumpinee and in Radja in main fight, in 2001 he faced Buakaw Por Pramuk for champion’s belt of Thailand, Sinchainoi had lost in points in a very tight match. There is also Patiharn Sor Kittichai who in 2004 was Champion of the South and later twice winner of the Tournament of the stadium Omnoi!
Today the star of the camp it is talented Phetthawee Sor Kittichai who was in 2007, Champion of Thailand in 122 lbs and Champions S1 in 122 lbs, at present he is classified N° 5 in Lumpinee in 126 lbs. Phetthawee is a great technician who beat great champions as Thong Puideenaidee, Kaimookdam Chuwattana, Sam A Thor Ratthanakiat, Phet Ek Kiatyongyut, Wutthidet Lookprabat, Fahmai Skymdewgym, and Singdongnoi Por Tewakoon!
The cousin of Phetthawee, the young person Saengdowlek Sor Kittichai, is also a very good fighter in 108 lbs, he already has hundred of fights in his active person among which many in the stadium of Radja where he is classified N° 4. When to Chokdjai Sor Kittichai who fights in 120 lbs it is a fighter estimated in the stadium of Lumpinee, he has 300 fights on the clock. There is also of rough fighters for Benphet Sor. Kittichai and Yodvisanu Sor Kittichai.
Since years thanks to the reputation of the boxers of the Sor Kittichai many foreign fighters came in this famous camp. French, Dutch, Spanish, Japanese, Swiss, Australian are already trained in Sor Kittichai. Some are the same stayed during several weeks and fought for the camp. In Sor Kittichai, the foreign fighters are always welcomed well, even the girls can come with no problem at all. A foreign fighter woman moreover stayed for a long time in the camp. The nakmuays of Sor Kittichai is used to receiving “farangs” (foreign). So, that there is even in the camp a corner for souvenir photos. It is a panel on which is drawn the body of a nakmuay with a hole in the place of the head. In spite of the hardness of the trainings, he reigns within the camp a joyful, family and warm atmosphere.
For 800 bahts you will be entitled to two trainings a day, the meals and the accommodation. And here, in the countryside, in ten kilometers of the first city, no fatal entertainment will come to disturb your training, any such thing to progress and build up to itself warrior’s mental…
