VENUM TRAINING CAMP
VENUM TRAINING CAMP
Special report
by Serge TREFEU (2019)
This multi-sport complex, ultra modern, opened in 2016. The Venum Training Camp is located in a very quiet area of the famous seaside resort Pattaya.
This camp was created by the great French champion Mehdi Zatout and the boss of the famous brand of combat sport VENUM.
Mehdi Zatout had a good career, this boxer with the will of iron, real warrior of the rings confronted the toughest fighters of his category such as Fayçal Akhlafa (Victory), Raouf Belliouz (Victory), Andrei Kulebin (Defeat), Super Boy (Victory), Saenchai Sor King Star (Defeat), Mickael Francoise (Victory), Saketdao Petphayathai (Defeat), Kaoponglek Luksuratum (Defeat), Dawut Kiatpatarapan (Victory), Fabio Pinca (Defeat), Morgan Adrar (Defeat), Yetkin Ozkul (Victory) and Singmanee Kaewsamrit (Victory)!
His fight record is laudatory because he started boxing very young, he has 115 fights for 75 victories including 43 by KO, 39 losses, and one draw. He won the title of French champion Thai boxing, a Thai boxing European WMC champion belt and two Thai boxing world champion belts in two different federations, the ISKA and the WBC!
In 2015, Mehdi Zatout and his family moved to Thailand for a new life. The champion made a parenthesis in his career as a boxer to devote himself to his long-standing project. The construction of a new kind of boxing camp in Pattaya. A camp that would include of course Muay Thai courses but also Boxing, MMA and Cross Training.
Mehdi Zatout is a representative of the Venum brand in France, so it is logical that he set up his gym with his associates of the famous brand that is known worldwide.
The land where the camp was built was a former French bowls court (Thai are fans of the petanque). On this vast terrain, an infrastructure of about 600 m2 (656 yard) has been built with a parking for the greater good of the combat sport practitioners.
Mehdi Zatout chose an off-centered district from noisy wildlife of Pattaya center, to 1Km800 from Jomthien beach. In the alleyway, Soi Khopai, where is the camp, there is no prostitute bar unlike the center of Pattaya. Because the Princess of Thailand owns property in the distric and she has formally prohibited the construction of Gogo Bar and other places of debauchery.
The surroundings of the camp are well ventilated, there is no building, just football fields that offer a beautiful view of the environment.
THE VENUM TRAINING CAMP
A hotel with swimming pool is 300 meters from the gym, it works in partnership with the Venum Training Camp and offers cheap rooms for Venum Training Camp guests. The neighborhood also includes many small restaurants as well as Seven/Eleven food stores.
MANY COMFORTABLE HOTELS ARE JUST NEXT TO THE VENUM TRAINING CAMP
It was with the great champion Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee (WPMF World Champion, WKN World Champion, S1 World Champion, Winner of the Thai Fight tournament) that Mehdi Zatout started classes in this temple of modern combat.
