YOUNG THAILAND CHAMPIONS

Before joining prestigious camps in the capital, nakmuay (boxers) are first trained at a young age in small provincial camps. It is in the first camp where they are formed that they adopt a fighter name which is often the name of the camp.
In many camps, children go to school, they train only when they return from school. In Thailand, poor families sometimes cannot afford to send their children to good schools. The camp then pays the scholarship fees.
Later, if the young fighter becomes a known champion, he will be able to earn large sums of money, astronomical sums compared to his parents who are often peasants or workers. In an important fight a great champion receives the equivalent of a year’s salary of a simple worker!
Whether they have become good professional boxers or legends of the rings, the Thai champions of Muay Thai all started their training very young, some, from the age of 5/6 years have crossed the ropes of a ring like the little prodigy Sangmanee Sor Tianpo who had his first fight at 6 years old where still the talented Phet Uthong Or Kwanmuang who fought at 6 years old, superstars Nungubon Sitlerchai, Buakaw Por Pramuk, Superlek Kiatmuu 9 made their first fight at 7 years old.
In general, it is rather between 8 and 13 years old that they begin their training of boxing, for example the stars of the rings Namsaknoi Yudthakarnkamthorn, Sakmongkol Sitchuchok, Fasuchon Sit O, Saenchai Sor Kingstar, Yodsaenklai Fairtex, Phanpayak Jitmuangnon, Kulapdam Sor Jor Piak Uthai made their first fight at 8 years old, Panomtuanglek Ha Phalang, Attachai Fairtex, Sam A Kayanghaadao, Singdam Kiatmuu9, Pakorn Sakyothin, Ritheewada Sitikul, at 9 years old, Samart Payakaroon, Hippy Singmanee, Boonlay Sor Thanikul, Krongsak Sakasem, Namkabuan Nong Khee Pahuyut, Wangchannoi Sor Palangchai, Kaensak Sor Ploenchit, Nong O Kaiyanghadao, Nong Bee Kiatyongyut, Panomrunglek Kiatmuu 9, at 10 years old, Chanchai Sor Thamrangsri, at 11 years old, Jaroenthong Kietbanchong, Robert Kaennorasing, Rungrath Naratrikoon, Thanonchai Thanakorn, at 12 years old, Sangtiennoi Sor Rungroj, Karuhat Sor Supawan, Bowee Sor Udomson, Superbank Sakchaichote, at 13 years old, Veeraphol Sahaprom, at 14 years old.
It is difficult to find pictures of great champions as a child boxer. Only the wonder boy of the rings made their appearance very early in the specialized newspapers. Siamfightmag found some pictures of Muay Thai stars when they were children or teenagers!
